Vincent White

April 17, 1946 — February 6, 2020

Vincent R. White passed away peacefully at KC Hospice House on February 6, 2020.   Vince valiantly fought Parkinson’s for the past 20+ years.    The disease took a toll on his body, but never his spirit. Vince was born in Nebraska, on April 17, 1946 to Edgar and Lucy (Hershey) White.

Vince attended and graduated from North Kansas City High School 1964.    He continued his education completing degrees in Physics and Math from UMKC.   Long after his “formal” education ended, Vince continued to read books on Math, Chemistry, Physics and any form of science.  He was a life-long learner.   You could not leave a book unattended in his presence.

Vince was a member of Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).  He passionately studied and researched UFO’s .  At one point he had nearly 4000 books in his personal library, the vast majority involving either science or UFO’s.   While Vince never saw a UFO himself, he was a true believer.

Vince was an avid runner.   He ran three marathons, winning third place in 1979 in the Hospital Hill run.  Even after Parkinson’s had taken its toll, Vince continued to (try to) run a few steps, even when it meant falling and skinning his knees.

Vince was married to Jane Deubler on April 9, 1987, exactly two years from the day they met on a blind date.

Vince worked as a Computer Programmer, working for various Banks and most recently with CSC, contracting to assure the Marines were paid.

Vince is survived by his wife Jane, Sister - Roxann, Brother Larry, and seven Nieces and Nephews.   Susan Yetter (John), Dana Jefferies (Daniel), Christina Gunsaulis,  Felicia Zoldak (James),  Robert White,  John Gunsaulis  (Darci), Tony Gunsaulis (Sarah) as well as eleven great nieces and nephews.

Vince is now running his best marathon ever and has the best seat for his first UFO sighting.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest being a nice human.
