Thomas (Tom) M. Thorson, age 77, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on January 10, 2022, surrounded by family.

Tom was born to parents George and Dorothy in Sioux Falls, SD. After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War and college, he pursued a career in sales that brought him to Sioux City, IA, where he started his family. His career then took him to Omaha, NE where he later met and married the love of his life, Janet “Jan”. Their blended family blessed them with 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Jan (his “honey”); his children, Dan Reynolds and wife Jen, Julie Graziano and husband Larry, Suzie Grendahl, and Anne Harvey and husband Brett; his siblings, Sharon Williams and husband Terry, George “Corky” Thorson and wife Donna, Patty Swain and husband David, Jane Gramlick, and Rob Thorson and wife Pam; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy Thorson and his sons, Steve Thorson and John Reynolds.

Tom was known for his passion for his family, his country, his strong faith and his dog “Georgie.” His fun-loving spirit and his many talents aspired us all. He will be dearly missed, and we find comfort in knowing he is now with our good Lord.

The family looks forward to a ‘Celebration of Life’ to be held in Sioux Falls, SD at a later date.
