John Nance

July 9, 1953 — January 22, 2022

JOHN RAY NANCE

Born July 9, 1953      -   Died January 22, 2022

John grew up in Gladstone, Missouri with his parents, Ray and Betty Nance, 2 sisters, Carolyn (Nance) Zumalt and Mary (Nance) Jarrett.

John was married to Mary Lee (Evans) Nance from April 14, 1973 until his passing January 22, 2022. They had one son, Myron Walker Nance, who preceded John in death on May 24,2021 at the age of 30.

John is survived by his wife, 2 grandchildren, and his two sisters and their families.

He will be remembered for his love for his family and his love and service to our Lord, Jesus. His favorite job was as Children’s Minister at Grandview Assembly of God. He and Mary Lee worked together and were blessed to have led many children in giving their hearts to Jesus. Then helping those children grow and serve the Lord. They consider all those children “their kids.”

John loved to sing, and he served the Lord with his music also. He and Mary Lee blessed Senior Adult groups and children’s gatherings with music and puppet ministries.

John will also be remembered for his great BBQ/Smoked meat skills. The neighbor could smell the smoke from John’s grill all year long. He also loved the outdoors. Mary Lee shares that love. They spent most of their vacations camping, fishing, or hunting together. Because of his love for the outdoors, the family will plan an outdoor memorial event at a later date.
