George Welch

    G. Michael Welch, “Mike”, age 80 of Stilwell, KS  passed away on April 9th, Easter morning, at KC Hospice House in Kansas City Missouri. Mike graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1961 and went on to Baker University, graduating in 1965, with a degree in secondary Education/History. He got his Masters in history in 1968. 
   At Baker he met and after graduation married Elizabeth “Betty Sue” Rollinson. He taught history and Drivers Ed at Shawnee Mission South and coached both football and track. 
   After building and selling a few houses in his summers, he started Mike Welch Builder, Inc in 1981.  He was a partner in several developments, including Cherry Creek and you’ll find many of his brand from Cedar Creek to Lees Summit. 
   He leaves his wife, Betty Sue, his son Ryan (Ashli) and daughter Susan Flynn (Brian), four grandchildren: Ana Welch, Cameron Welch, William “Bill” Flynn and Elizabeth “Elle” Flynn. 
   Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 19th at 2:00, visitation at 1:00, at Church of the Resurrection’s Wesley Chapel, 137th and Roe in Leawood, KS.
