Bonnie "Jeanette" Harvey

May 25, 1928 — July 1, 2019

Bonnie "Jeanette" Harvey, age 91, of Raymore, Missouri passed away on July 1, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by family in her final moments.  Jeanette was born May 25, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to Ivan William and Verona (Shields) Hanson.  She was the second of three siblings.  She graduated from Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas.

Jeanette married the love of her life, Norton Rhea Harvey, on April 17, 1948. She was a proud housewife and loving mother of four children. They resided in Kansas City, Kansas, Shawnee Mission, Kansas and later retired to Quincy, Missouri. She relocated to Raymore, Missouri after her husband’s death on August 31, 1988.  Jeannette was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 25 years and made many lifelong friends.

She enjoyed gardening, their many dogs,  wild birds, her many parakeets and Tweety Bird. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking and baking.  She cherished the antique Betty Boop doll she inherited from a relative.  If you knew her, you knew she had that Betty Boop doll.  She also enjoyed watching old game shows and never missed an episode of Wheel-Of-Fortune. She was pretty good at solving the puzzles.  She never found the need for a driver’s license and was probably never behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Most of her friends and family will remember her for her sense of humor and how much she loved to laugh! She will also be remembered for her kindness and caring.  She was blessed with a close group of very special friends at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and had fun going on their many adventures.  She cherished the memories of their good times.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Verona Hanson, her husband Norton Harvey, her sister Betty Willis, son Danny Harvey and grandson Christopher Jansen.

Jeanette is survived by her sons David (Catherine) Harvey and Dennis (Robin) Harvey; daughter Barbara Jansen; brother Ivan H. (Mary Jo) Hanson; five grandchildren Tonya Machelle (Bill) Hays, Anthony Asbury, Nicole (Jason) Godard, Jennifer Ming, and Tricia (Jesse) Lee; thirteen great-grandchildren Megan (Joey) Moore, Alex Asbury, Korbyn Asbury, Keygun Asbury, Tayler (Chris) Yackle, Sydney Godard, Reece Godard, Wylin Ming, Shay Ming, Jolie Ming, Brandon Lee, Samantha Lee, and Madison Lee; four great-great-grandchildren Benjamin Moore,  James Moore, Liam Yackle, and Bently Fleming.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to the Brookdale Hospice team that cared for Jeanette.   God certainly blessed us all with these loving/caring and devoted caregivers during her final year of life. Each one was a special blessing and there is no way to thank them enough.  They are so much more than caregivers.

Visitation will be held, Sunday July 7, 2019 at 4pm until the time of the service at 5pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 310 Johnston Parkway, Raymore, MO 64083.  No burial.
