Steven L. Hayes

Steven L. Hayes, 62, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on July 1, 2026. He was born June 15, 1964, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and kindness. Steven was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and laughter to everyone who knew him.

He loved hunting, fishing, and crafting, and he had a gift for storytelling that created lasting memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Betty Hayes; his brother, Billy V. Hayes; his sister, Sharon Steinkuehler; and his dog, Cujo.

Steven is survived by his daughters, Jessica Wilson (Cody) and Rachael Hayes (Noel Torres), his four grandchildren, and his dog, Buddy.

Steven cherished time with his family and the lifelong friendships he shared with Glenn Stockton, Lou Paccapaniccia Jr., Lou Paccapaniccia Sr., Andy Holland, and Troy Ferrell. His generous spirit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
