Tonganoxie

Phyllis Margurite (Clark) Edwards, Age 72 of Tonganoxie, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Kansas City, KS on December 5, 1950 to Leon Grant Clark and Beverly Marie (Reed) Clark.

She is survived by her 6 children, Danette Cox, David Miller (Denise), Sherry McCord (Danny), Kimberly Alvarez (Mike), Virginia Craig (Jason) and Eric Edwards (Mel).

She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her siblings Mark Wright (Sherrie), Kathie Wright, Georgia Knight, Christine Neer (Rod), Brian Clark, April Wright, Kristy Johnson (Lee), Karen Rogers, Grant Clark, Eddie Allee (Karen) Beverly Sevy and also her Aunt Donna Pilcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leon Grant Clark and Beverly Marie (Reed) Wright, her step-father Truman A. Wright, her brothers, David Wright, Truman L. Wright, Truman A. Wright, Jr., Randy Clark, her sister Diane Omelia and her grandson Seth Craig.

Phyllis was a loving mother, sister and friend. She believed in God and loved His creations. She loved having a positive attitude and it having an effect on others. She “told it like it was” but in the most gentle way possible in each situation.

She believed, some things you just cannot change so put it in a box, put it up in the closet and give it to God. She did that to the best of her ability. She had the softest heart with a little orneriness and spunkiness sprinkled in it. She was honest with others and tried to be honest with herself. She was as loving and fun hearted as they come and was adored and loved deeply by all who knew her well. She loved all of her family and loved spending time with them and also loved being a grandmother and great grandmother.

She loved taking care of what was hers, whether it be family, friends, pets, plants or her possessions.

She enjoyed tending to her garden and plants and was especially good at it. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch and either listening to nature or chatting with her neighbors.

Phyllis will be greatly missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her.

Cremation has already taken place and no funeral service will be held per her wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
