Linda Darline Hallford Boyer, born on September 14, 1946, in National City, California, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2025.
Linda was the daughter of John Girlan and Marjorie Darline Hallford. She graduated from Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, California, in 1964, and continued her education at Park University and Webster University, where she earned a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems.
A dedicated and accomplished professional, following her successful career at Hallmark in Kansas City, Linda began her government employment in 1991 as a contractor for the Department of Defense. In 1998, she transitioned to the Federal workforce when she was hired as a Government Service civilian by the United States Army, working as a computer engineer and computer scientist. In this capacity, Linda was instrumental in successfully fielding numerous highly technical Army systems. Linda proudly served in the Army until her retirement in 2014, having achieved the grade of GS-15.
Following her retirement, Linda relocated to Olathe, Kansas, to be closer to her family. She cherished time spent with her loved ones and especially enjoyed being “Grammy” to her eleven grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and laughter.
Linda is survived by her children, Darline Rios, John (Angela) Boyer, and Steve (Shanda) Boyer; and by her eleven beloved grandchildren. She will be remembered for her incredibly generous nature, her intelligence, kindness, and to her unendingdevotion to her family. Her warmth and gentle spirit touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date.
