Jennette Sylvia Harris

Jennette Sylvia Harris' sunrise began on September 1, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri and throughout her life, she touched countless hearts with her warmth. Her sun set on July 15, 2026 in Grandview, Missouri, at the age of 87.

Jennette’s journey was marked by resilience and strength. Her parents, Dan Washington and Ethel Marie Griffin Keares, both preceded her in death as well as all of her siblings and three of her children, Rhonda Harris Swopes, Karl Harris and Sherri Harris.

Her son, Laron Harris, survives her and carries forward her legacy of kindness and perseverance. Her memory also lives on in her grandchildren: Alisha, Chaneise (Ryan), Donnie, Javon, Lamont, Montell, Tyron, Brandon and his wife and family, and Deavon and his wife and family. Each of her grandchildren were a treasured part of Jennette’s world.

Jennette worked for the Internal Revenue Service for the majority of her working career. After putting in several years of hard work, she eventually retired in 1999.

Jennette will be missed and loved by her loved ones.
