It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Elizabeth “Beth” Louise Davidson Andrew. She was 67 years old, and passed away on January 31st, 2026, at her home in Leawood, KS.
Beth was born May 21st, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri to William “Bud” and Esther “Babe” (Williams) Davidson. The fourth of six children, she grew up in a home of bustling family life and Catholic upbringing with her family and many many extended family and friends. She attended Christ the King grade school, followed by Center High School in south Kansas City where she graduated in 1976.
Beth was married in 1984 to Stephen Andrew, and shortly thereafter gave birth to a son, Eric Paul, in January 1985. A year later, in January 1986, they welcomed a daughter, Lauren Elizabeth. Beth thrived in her role as a mother, and loved working and raising her children in south Kansas City. She enjoyed being an active participant in their school and activities, whether it be a room parent, chauffeuring the kids around to their many school events and friend activities, and just generally enjoying life with the family she created. Beth loved being a mother and was a natural caregiver to all those she loved.
As life went on, Beth became the proud “Grammy Beth” to four beautiful grandchildren. She adored those babies, and was always interested in their daily activities, funny antics, and whatever interests she could nurture. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Her apartment could be found with endless photos all around the room of those she cherished so deeply.
Beth was also a strong believer in her faith. She grew up with a Catholic upbringing and education. In her later years, she attended Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. She met many beloved friends there, and often spoke of the wonderful community of people she spent time with at COR.
Beth was also an avid lover of animals, cats in particular. At the time of her passing, she had two cats: Harry and Pippa. She loved them like her children. However, she spent her life surrounded by many cats, strays, and other animals in need that she also loved with all she had to give. Her natural nurturing tendency lended itself to the rescue of so many animals in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Esther, as well as her sister Suzanne Davidson and brother Timothy Davidson. She is survived by her children, Eric (Melanie) Andrew, Lauren (Michael) Richardson, and four grandchildren: Avery Andrew, Leo Andrew, Logan Richardson, & Audrey Richardson. She was also survived by her siblings Raymond, (Lynn) Davidson, Julie (Robert) Daniels, and Samuel Davidson, along with many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and close friends whom she loved so dearly.
Services will be held at 2:30p.m. Thursday, February 5th, 2026 at the Wesley Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224. Reception to follow at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Beth’s honor to your local animal shelter, homeless shelter, or the Rosebrooks Center.
