Christofer Apollo Claxton, affectionately known to many as Apollo, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on March 23, 1985, in Kansas City, Kansas, he lived a life marked by creativity and love.
Apollo was a man of many passions and talents. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often unwinding by listening to his favorite music – rap and hip-hop – with close friends, cherishing the rhythms and company. Among his favorite bands was the legendary Earth, Wind and Fire, whose melodies brightened his day and his moments of relaxation.
Creativity flowed abundantly within Apollo. He expressed himself through drawing, where his imaginative spirit found its outlet. This artistic nature extended into the kitchen, where he delighted in cooking, especially crafting his sons’ favorite dish, potato soup. These meals were a testament to his deep affection and pride as a father, a role he honored above all else.
Nature held a special place in Apollo’s heart. He delighted in exploring the many parks of Independence, Missouri, finding peace and joy in their serene pathways and lush surroundings. His walks among the trees and through open spaces offered a cherished connection to the peaceful scenery of the world around him.
Apollo is survived by his beloved sons, Samuel Claxton and Apollo Claxton, who were the center of his life and pride. They carry forward his legacy of love and creativity. He is also survived by his brothers, Adrien Banks Claxton, Steven Claxton, and Scotty Adam along with his wife Jessica Adam who Apollo built a strong connection with and saw as a sister; sister, Cynthia (Paul) Stowers; and nephew, Casey Claxton, all who remember him with great fondness and respect.
He was preceded in death by his father, William David Banks Claxton, his mother, Kathleen Sue (Paden) Claxton, and brother William David Banks Claxton, II.
Christofer Apollo Claxton’s presence enriched the lives of those who knew him. His spirit will continue to resonate in the music he loved, the art he created, the meals he lovingly prepared, and the natural beauty he cherished.
