Jeanne C. Wisby, 79, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.  She was surrounded at home by her loving husband, David C. Wisby, her daughter, Ingrid Maddock, and her son-in-law, Douglas B. Maddock Jr.

Jeanne was born on Pelee Island in Ontario, Canada, to Herbert and Marguerite Quick.  She lived on the island with her parents and brother, William Quick, until going off to London Teacher’s College in London (Ontario), Canada.  After graduating college in 1958, she taught primary grades for the Riverside, Ontario Board of Education, and later moved to Toronto, where she developed a passion for teaching special needs children.

Jeanne married the love of her life, David, on March 17, 1968.  They had a beautiful ceremony on the water in Windsor (Ontario), Canada, surrounded by Jeanne’s family, her best friend, Marlyn Hamilton, and David’s life-long friend, Don Kosch.

Jeanne never lost her love for teaching.  After getting married and starting her family, she did occasional substitute teaching and taught a children’s Sunday school class.

She lived life to the fullest, had a deep passion for people, and was beloved by all who knew her.  Jeanne was very kind and loving and always ready for fun.  Her greatest joy outside of her personal relationship with Jesus was being a mother.  She cherished her daughter.

Jeanne and David loved to travel, but their greatest delight was spending time at their summer home on Lake Huron in Grand Bend (Ontario), Canada.  This wonderfully serene little cottage with a gorgeous lakefront view was their “happy” place.  They cherished visits from their family, life-long friends, and church family, and just hanging out with the folks in Grand Bend.

Jeanne is in her full glory in heaven as she leaves behind many wonderful memories in the hearts and minds of those she loved so deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Kansas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  The family sincerely appreciates all the outpouring of support and loving condolence messages.

A service honoring this amazing lady will be announced soon.
